Location: At the Aeropuerto Internacional Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.
 
To Reach: Go to Aeropouerto Internacional Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. To reach the site (after you have
procured your badge from the Airport Administration Office), go to a gate (which
accesses the airport runway) located approximately 30 meters north-west of the west
side of the airport building. After showing your badge to the armed guard, your
vehicle can be driven though this gate about 10 meters to a parking area. The UNAM
seismic station will be visible on top of a small hill, north of the parking area.
 
Site is located on top of this hill, approximately 13 meters NE of the SE fence corner of
the UNAM seismic station.
 
Main Station Mark: Stainless steel pin with center punch, inscription ZIHU S, set in bedrock.
 
Reference Mark #1: Stainless steel pin with center punch, inscription ZIHU RM1, set in bedrock
Reference mark is located approximately 17 meters from the main mark at an
azimuth of 330 degrees.
 
Geology: Granitic outcrop.
 
Comments: All amenities can be found in the town of Zihuatanejo. This is a very safe site, with
the entrance guarded 24 hours a day. Possible lock box site. Can not use spike mount,
because of vegetation. Permission to access the site must be obtained by the Airport
Administration Office. Bring a star drill and a machete to clear the vegetation.
